FridayNational JOHNNY APPLESEED Day!!
National Johnny Appleseed Day is celebrated on two dates: March 11th and September 26th. Both dates honor John Chapman, the pioneer nurseryman known as Johnny Appleseed, but for different reasons: March 11th- This date is often chosen to celebrate the legendary planter because it coincides with the spring planting season. September 26th- This date marks the anniversary of John Chapman's birth in 1774, in Leominster, Massachusetts. Born John Chapman, the figure known as Johnny Appleseed was a real person and an early American conservationist and missionary. He traveled across the Midwest (including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois), planting nurseries of apple trees. His apples were primarily used for making hard cider, a safe alternative to drinking water for pioneers. He is remembered for his kindness, generosity, and eccentric appearance, which included going barefoot and wearing simple clothing.

FridayNeedle Felting Club
Needling felt, also known as needle felting, is a crafting process where loose wool fibers are tangled and condensed using special barbed needles to create 3D sculptures or 2D art. You'll need wool (like roving), a felting needle (or multi-needle tool), a felting mat, and optional finger protectors to prevent injury. The technique involves repeated stabbing motions with the needle, causing the wool fibers to interlock and firm up into a desired shape. **Please Register with the Library
