FridayNeedle Felting Club
Needling felt, also known as needle felting, is a crafting process where loose wool fibers are tangled and condensed using special barbed needles to create 3D sculptures or 2D art. You'll need wool (like roving), a felting needle (or multi-needle tool), a felting mat, and optional finger protectors to prevent injury. The technique involves repeated stabbing motions with the needle, causing the wool fibers to interlock and firm up into a desired shape. **Please Register with the Library

SaturdayNational READ A BOOK Day!!
National "Read a Book Day" is observed every year on September 6th. The event encourages people to set aside time to enjoy a book and celebrates the pleasures of reading and literacy. History: While the day's origins are unclear, it is believed to have started in the United States and was likely created to encourage people to read more. In a world of digital media and distractions, it serves as a reminder to pause and appreciate the written word. Benefits of reading: Taking time to read offers many benefits, including: *Mental stimulation: Reading improves memory, concentration, and analytical thinking. *Reduced stress: A 2009 study by the University of Sussex found that reading for just six minutes can lower stress levels by 68%. Improved sleep: Reading before bed can help you relax and prepare for more restful sleep. *Increased empathy: Engaging with different characters and perspectives can build greater empathy and compassion. *Expanded knowledge: Reading is an accessible way to learn about new subjects and broaden your horizons.
